§ 14.140. Cancellation of bonds on public works.

  • Whenever any principal, surety, insured or insurer, or others in their behalf, shall request the city council to cancel or terminate any bond or insurance policy which has been furnished to and filed with the city on behalf of said principal or insured, in connection with any buildings, structures, tanks, wires, pipes or any other equipment, maintained and used in, over, under and upon any public property, pursuant to permission granted by the city, or shall request the city council to substitute a new bond or insurance policy in lieu of the existing bond or insurance policy, such principal, surety, insured or insurer, or others in their behalf, at the time of making said request shall pay to the city clerk the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) to cover the publication costs of the proceedings in connection therewith, and in the event said request is denied, said fee shall be returned to the remitter thereof.
