§ 229.80. Ratproofing.

  • It shall be the responsibility of the owner of any building in the city to make such building reasonably ratproof, by closing openings in building foundations under and around the building, doors, windows, vents and other places which could provide a means of entry for rats, with rat-impervious material such as, but not limited to, concrete, sheet metal, metal screen and hardware cloth.

    Any building used to warehouse or store food, foodstuffs, food containers or other such materials shall be ratproof and all food, foodstuffs, food containers or other materials shall be placed so as to permit proper cleaning, inspection and rat extermination. (Code 1960, As Amend., § 781.080)
