§ 172.10. Police conduct oversight system established.

  • For the purposes of (1) assuring that police services are delivered in a lawful and nondiscriminatory manner, (2) providing to the public meaningful participatory oversight of the police and their interactions with the citizenry and (3) investigating complaints of misconduct on the part of officers of the Minneapolis Police Department and making recommendations regarding the merits of such complaints to the chief of police, there is hereby created an office of police conduct review and a police conduct oversight commission, with duties and authority as described in this chapter.
