§ 30.10. Marking of vehicles.

  • All automobiles owned by the city, except those operated by the police department, shall be labeled with a sign painted on each side thereof, with conspicuous letters not less than two and one-half (2½) inches in height, one (1) inch wide and of a three-eighths ( 3/8 ) inch stroke, [containing the words] "City of Minneapolis," and the full name or initials of the department operating the automobile, which sign shall at all times be and remain uncovered and visible. The head of each department shall see that the proper signs are painted on all machines under the supervision and control of the department head and that of any subordinate employee of the city. The purchasing agent shall cause the signs to be painted at the expense of the various departments operating the machines. (Code 1960, As Amend., § 478.020; 77-Or-127, § 1, 6-10-77; Pet.
