§ 20.11. Advances and transfers.

  • The salary of the employee who advances from one grade to another grade shall be the next increment higher than the salary last received by such employee in the lower classification; provided, however, that if the next increment is not at least four (4) percent higher than the salary last received, the employee shall be advanced an additional increment if one so exists, and thereafter shall increase annually according to the succeeding year's rates as set forth in this chapter. Where an employee is transferred or certified from one classification to another in the same rank and pay scale, the employee shall receive the rate of pay fixed in this chapter on the basis of combined length of service in both classifications.
