§ 16.540. Credits to fund; subdividing; use.

  • The proceeds of all such bonds and other obligations of the city, if any, issued for defraying the cost of making permanent improvements of the city by the city council or any of the boards or departments of the city, and the proceeds of all taxes levied for like purposes by the city council or by any board or department of the city, shall be credited to and shall constitute portions of the permanent improvement fund of the city. Such fund shall be divided into subdivisions corresponding to the several boards and departments of the city entitled to use any portion of said fund for making permanent improvements of the city as authorized by law, and corresponding to the several purposes for which said fund may be legally used. From said fund shall be paid the cost of all public permanent improvements of the city not otherwise provided for, embracing and including permanent improvements made by or under the authority and direction of the city council, the park board, and library board, or any board or department of the city having authority to make such improvements.
