§ 16.400. Reports to council.

  • (a) Immediately after the abandonment of any improvement or purpose for which bonds are issued, the city finance officer and the director of public works shall, at least one (1) week before a regular meeting of the city council, report to the city council in writing the fact of such abandonment as shown by the records of the city council, or any board or department of the city government. If such bonds have been issued for the use of any board or department of the city government, a copy of such report shall also likewise be filed with such board or department. If the city council at its next regular meeting shall not otherwise order, the proper city officers shall cause the proceeds of said bonds to be transferred to the credit of the sinking fund or funds as herein provided.

    (b)

    Upon completion of any improvement or purpose for which bonds are issued, the city finance officer and director of public works shall in like manner report to the city council, in writing, as to such completion, stating such facts as show such completion and the amount remaining in the fund for such improvement or purpose. If the bonds have been issued for the use of any board or department of the city government, a copy of such report shall likewise be filed with said board or department. If the city council at its next regular meeting shall not otherwise order, the proper city officers shall cause the balance in said funds to be transferred to the credit of the sinking fund or funds as herein provided.
