§ 478.360. Duty to deposit payment; overtime parking; physically disabled persons.

  • (a) When a vehicle is parked in a metered area, the operator of said vehicle shall, upon entering a parking space, immediately deposit or cause to be deposited payment, and the said parking space may then be lawfully occupied by such vehicle during the period of parking time which has been prescribed for the part of the street in which said parking space is located. If a vehicle remains in any such parking space beyond the parking time limit, the vehicle shall be considered as parked overtime and such parking shall be a violation of this Code;

    (b)

    Commercial trucks, commercial vehicles and commercial permit vehicles may use metered spaces on public streets for loading and unloading merchandise to the abutting premises before the hour of 12:00 noon, without payment, and such vehicle must park centered as nearly as possible in a single metered space. In no case shall the stop for loading or unloading exceed thirty (30) minutes;

    (c)

    Relief from liability for payment of parking fees granted to physically disabled persons pursuant to 478.530 and section 478.540 shall not apply where (i) time restrictions are separately posted on official signs or (ii) the time restrictions on the parking meter allow parking for not more than thirty (30) minutes.
