Latest version.
  • The Minneapolis City Council finds that the preservation of the quality of life in the City of Minneapolis is dependent upon providing sufficient levels of decent and affordable housing; that the Little Earth of United Tribes, Inc., Project has contributed significantly toward fulfilling that purpose by providing low to moderate income housing for Indians (as defined in 24 C.F.R. Minnesota Statutes 905.102) and has been a source of pride and community to the city's Indian population; that the continued operation of the Little Earth Project contributes to the well-being of the citizens of the city; and that the establishment of an Indian Housing Authority to own and operate the Little Earth Project will ensure the continued operation of the Little Earth Project as low to moderate income housing for Indians in furtherance of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Minneapolis.
