§ 327.10. Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter:

Automobile shall mean a self-propelled vehicle designed and used primarily to transport not more than ten (10) passengers, but shall not include motor scooters licensed under Chapter 311 of this Code.

Defective odometer shall mean an instrument designed and used to record the distances traveled by an automobile, which erroneously overstates or understates that distance by a margin greater than three and three-fourths (3.75) per cent.

Rental automobile shall mean an automobile rented or leased for a fee computed on the basis of distances traveled by that automobile while it is used by the lessee; and without the lessor making any provision for a driver of that automobile while it is used by the lessee.
