§ 322.110. Reports to police.

  • Every precious metal dealer shall make out and deliver to the police department every day before noon, upon a form approved by the police department, a legible description of the goods purchased during the preceding day, together with the time purchased and the name and address of the person from whom the goods were purchased. The description of the goods shall include:

    (1)

    The type and size of the item.

    (2)

    The kind and quality of metal.

    (3)

    Any engravings or distinguishing characteristics.

    (4)

    Any gems attached.

    (5)

    The type, denomination and quantity of each denomination of all coins.

    (6)

    The purchase price.

    No person shall be required to furnish reports of bulk sales from merchants, manufacturers or wholesale dealers of precious metal or of goods purchased at open sale from bankrupt stock. Bulk sales must be accompanied by a bill of sale or other evidence of purchase which must be shown to any member of the sheriff or police department upon demand.
