§ 225.380. Identification of containers.

  • No person shall place or allow to be placed on any street, boulevard or alley any container for which a street use permit is required, as per section 91.20 and which has a capacity of more than five (5) cubic feet, and which is designed or utilized for the collection of building debris, solid waste, or any other material, without having the name and telephone number of the owner stenciled or painted in legible printing in a conspicuous place upon such container. Any box or container not identified or found not to have the proper street use permit, may be impounded by the environmental health division or the police department if found upon public property. Owners of impounded containers may reclaim such by paying the costs of pickup and storage incurred by the city. Containers, not reclaimed within thirty (30) days of impoundment, may be disposed of by the environmental health division or chief of police, according to law. Any container which is placed on a city street shall have suitable reflectors or warning lights attached, as required by section 427.310 of this Code of Ordinances or as otherwise required by law.
